Asiatic Lily Garden

Monday, July 6th, 2009

Right now is the hight of my asiatic lily garden.  I made a little path out of leftover stone I found and then lined that path with asiatic lilies last year…or maybe it was two years ago, can’t quite remember.  Anyway, they are all in full bloom right now and are looking mighty fine!  I love them because they are maintence free, they flower for a long time and they are easy to grow and hard to kill.  Here are a couple of pics of my lily garden.

My Favorite Part of The Day…

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Well, I actually have two.  The obvious one is once both kids are asleep and that wonderful sound of silence that fills the air.  This is when I can hear my own thoughts and take a moment to breathe.  This is a great moment.

But, there is this time of day during the summer months when the sun is setting in the sky just so.

See how beautiful the sun is through the trees?  Everything seems to sparkle, right before the sun goes to bed for the night.  It’s calm and the temperature cools down and everything seems so peaceful and simple during this time of night.  These moments are the reason why we come up to Wisconsin for the summer, for these favorite moments.

Seriously???

So it’s not bad enough that I have poison ivy or some other allergic reaction on my face that makes me look like a crazed, contagious sicko that everyone feels the need to take two steps in the other direction, because it’s just so darn ugly and noticeable…Now a mosquito decided I needed another reason to hide indoors all day since it bit me on the same cheek that the poison ivy is doing it’s magical work on.

No amount of makeup can cover this hedious face right now.

Ahhhhh….How I love Nature!
